Memphis Depay Officially Join Manchester United: My Reactions

"Manchester United is delighted to announce that Memphis Depay has completed his transfer from PSV Eindhoven. Memphis joins on a four-year contract with the option to extend for a further year.
Memphis made 124 senior appearances and scored 50 times for PSV Eindhoven after coming through the club's youth system, making his first-team debut in September 2011. The 21-year-old was the Eredivisie's top scorer this season with 22 goals in 30 games (and 28 in 40 games including European matches).
The young winger has so far played 16 times for the Netherlands national team, scoring three goals, and he was one of three players shortlisted for the Young Player Award at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. " (Source : Manchester United official website)

So.....

Who the hell is this guy ?
What make him so special ?
Why Manchester United eager to sign him ?
Is he is going to be another United legends?
Or he is just another overrated useless flops ?

At this moment I don't see why this is a well worthwhile deal, in fact Van Gaal really shouldn't sign him at the first place. United needs defensive players now , I mean right now. Look at the team's defense, how many do they concede in recent seasons? Luckily for them last season they could have concede over 50 goals with little ease without David de Gea . So, what United really need to do now is shifting their focus on signing defenders or defensive players, really really experienced defenders not another future youngsters with potential.

Depay  however, is neither belongs to those types of players that mentioned earlier. Depay is good, full of potential, with outstanding techniques and vigorous skills, but at this moment he does shows little-to none contribution on resolving United's defense problem. United already have loaded with vast of excellent and skillful attackers, Herrera, Mata ,even their record signing Di Maria. They now urgently need defensive players, so his affliction to United have somehow become superfluous and   resourcefulness. Basically, he is just an unnecessary upgrade to United's current squad.

But let's just say he does a wonderful signings, and fans welcome him for joining United, would be able to adapt the play style from his manager Louis Van Gaal , or even the Premier League ? Most of the foreign players nowadays have experienced suffering from this issue whenever they join an English/Premier League team,is that they can't really adapt the play style of Premier League. Premier League majority requires more physically attributes than football techniques skills, which makes most of the foreign players can't really adapt it well at the first place, affecting their performance on the pitch.

But what I'm saw is that most Dutch players do play really well in Premier League, his teammates Daley Blind and Robin Van Persie do establishing well at United, so I can't find what reason he would not be able to play steadily for United or another Premier League team.

He previously worked with Van Gaal during the Fifa World Cup , so I think he should be fine with his playing style and adapt it very quickly. Besides, he does speak English well, which is the most problematic issue among to those foreign players who firstly join the Premier League team. So there's no any language barrier between him and United.

Many so called haters or plastic fans do actually view him as a liability rather than a profit, so they labeled him as "overrated" and trolls him at their own social networking page or news website whenever any news related to him. This is really common in football industry nowadays, whenever a player was signed with an unexpected high amount of fee, most of the fans would concerned whether he/she deserves to be valued at such costly fees. His future teammate Angel Di Maria was once trolled by those haters and plastic fans too, viewed him as ‘waste of money".

Actually , should a player be valued at what price is determined by their performance on the pitch. If you paid approximately of 30m pound to sign an unknown or "overrated" player, but his/her overall performance on the pitch is inspiring and remarkable,  you'll realize this is a really wise and worthy deal. There more than there more than meets the eye. So basically those haters or plastic fans should really just shut up and watch his/her plays. If he doesn't perform well overall these year and have intentionally to goof off, then it's not a late time for them to troll.

In conclusion, will Depay be succeed at United ? Or become a massive failure ?  Well, lets find out when he plays for United next season !
